Home

Written by Grace Bernicker & Kenny Lamb

Drivin’ down that country road,

A thousand miles ‘til I reach my home

But it don’t matter how far I go,

‘Cause I’ve got every thing I need to call this home

A family farm and an old windmill

A little church on a grassy hill

A peaceful breeze and an open road.

‘Cause I’ve got every thing I need to call this home

Chorus

I’ve got the blue sky shining above me.

I’ve got the one that I love sitting next to me.

And it don’t matter how far we go,

‘Cause I’ve got everything I need to call this home.

Sittin there right next to you

You look at me with those eyes so blue

Feeling at peace in the passenger seat

Cause I got everything I need to call this home

Drivin' down that country road, with the radio on

Singing along to our favorite Carrie Underwood song

Telling you things I never said on the phone

I thought to myself, I've got everything I need to call this home.

Chorus

I’ve got the blue sky shining above me.

I’ve got the one that I love sitting next to me.

And it don’t matter how far we go,

‘Cause I’ve got everything I need to call this home.

When I'm out there in the world

And I find I'm on my own

I look up at that blue sky, it reminds me of my home.

No matter where you are,

No matter how far,

I could drive for miles

and your with me all the while

Chorus

I’ve got the blue sky shining above me.

I’ve got the one that I love sitting next to me.

And it don’t matter how far we go,

‘Cause I’ve got everything I need to call this home.

Yeah I’ve got everything I need to call this home.

Simpler Times

Written by: Grace Bernicker/Kenny Lamb

Take me back to simpler times

To swinging on monkey bars all summer long

To lemonade stands at the end of the drive,

Saving our quarters until the 4th of July.

Buying mini bottles of nail polish that were red, white and blue

Painting our finger nails and toe nails too.

Decorating our bikes with streamers of all kinds

Getting ready for that parade, under the warm sunshine.

Chorus

Those were the simpler times.

Everything seemed fine.

There wasn’t a care or a worry, on my mind.

Those were the simpler, yeah, simpler times.

Take me back to that time

When the sun never seemed set on those long summer nights.

Running through the backyard, catching fireflies in a jar.

While daddy cooked chicken on the barbeque, under the stars.

Sittin’ ‘round that cold-a-sack, that hot July night,

Watching the sky turn shades of blue, red and white.

Children laughing, some are crying afraid of the noise,

but we’re all sitting right there feeling over joyed.

Chorus

Those were the simpler times.

Everything seemed fine.

There wasn’t a care or a worry, on my mind.

Those were the simpler, yeah, simpler times.

Now my life seems to happen so fast

The moments rush by

They barely seem to last

Trying to figure out this life,

and what the future holds.

Do we get to choose our path,

or are they all set in stone?

Chorus

Those were the simpler times.

Everything seemed fine.

There wasn’t a care or a worry, on my mind.

Those were the simpler times.

Take Me

Written by: Grace Bernicker/Kenny Lamb

You see a young girl talking to her father

they both have tears in their eyes

He hugs her real tight and tells her that he loves her

And then he says his good bye.

Chorus

Oh, send me an angel, to mend the world

Take me to a place where there is peace and love

where guns and violence don’t determine one’s, fate.

Oh, ooh

Take me.

Take me.

She walks in the front door

with tears streaming down her face,

wanting nothing more then to run and hide.

You hear that her mom called the cops

on her dad, and put him in jail, the night before.

For reasons that you’re still unsure.

She tells you that her mom, won’t let her see her dad,

But all she wants to do is just hold his hand.

Chorus

Oh, send me an angel, to mend the world

Take me to a place where there’s peace and love

Where guns and violence don’t determine one’s, fate.

Ooh, ooh

Take me

Take me.

You give her a hug and tell her that you love her.

But will it all be ok?

How do you tell this to a child of seven or eight?

Who will decide her fate?

Chorus

Oh, send me an angel, to mend the world

Take me to a place where there’s peace and love

Where guns and violence don’t determine one’s, fate.

Ooh, ooh

Take me

Take me

Take me.
