This past Saturday I had the privilege of performing as one of three finalists in the Taste of Philadelphia’s second annual singer/songwriter competition. This event was part of the Wawa Welcome America Celebration, a 10 day pre-4th of July extravaganza that takes place through out the city of Philadelphia. The competition was held at the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing. Having the opportunity to perform in a space of this size, was really something! The competition was judged by a handful of well know people within the Philadelphia music industry, including the manager of the band The Roots. Even though I didn’t win, I had a great time performing “Home” for everyone at the Wawa Welcome America Festival at Penn’s Landing. We even had a nice cool breeze blowing, since we were down by the river, which was great, given it was about 98 degrees out. After the competition we went and got water ice, definitely a good idea on a hot day!! Here’s a picture of me looking at you 🙂
